Uniko Models
We transformed a major Barcelona-based modeling agency’s website by migrating to a headless WordPress architecture with Next.js, greatly enhancing speed and flexibility.
The Client
UNIKO Models is a Barcelona-based modelling agency with national and international models. It is focused on fashion, editorials, catalogues, cinema, TV, and advertising.
They approached us to help them relaunch their website and improve user experience and website performance.
The Challange
Unikomodels.com was an outdated WordPress website utilizing a heavily customized theme that significantly impacted performance and responsiveness. The site’s user experience was less than ideal, with slow loading times and a cluttered interface detracting from overall usability. A comprehensive redesign was necessary to meet modern web standards and provide a seamless experience for users. This process included optimizing the site’s performance, streamlining the design for better navigation, and ensuring compatibility across all devices. The goal was to transform Unikomodels.com into a more efficient, visually appealing, and user-friendly platform.
The Solution
Migrating to a headless WordPress architecture with Next.js as the frontend provided significant creative flexibility, leveraging WordPress exclusively as the backend. This transition enabled us to substantially enhance performance through server-side rendering and effective caching strategies. The user experience was further refined with a clean and minimalistic redesign, allowing the photos and visuals to take centre stage. This approach not only improved loading times but also ensured a more streamlined and engaging user journey.
